This is a very fine piece of handcraft made in the Swedish part of Lapland using the same techniques as the traditional Sami Antler knife, but using a wooden lower sheath instead of antler. The Blade is 10cm (4.2 inches) long, 2.1 cm wide and 3mm thick, is Very Sharp and is made from high quality Sandvik 12C27 stainless "surgical" steel (HRC 57). The blade extends with an internal tang that stretches approx 2.5" into the handle and is secured very firmly so that it won't come loose. In fact Karesuando offers a Life-time Guarantee that if the blade comes loose you will get an new knife straight away! Basically the blade will never come loose! The internal tang design is very beneficial from a weight perspective. The Handle is made from oiled curly birch and reindeer antler. The Sheath is made from vegetable tanned cow hide leather and oiled curly birch with reindeer antler inlay that has been etched with Sami symbols. This is a very special knife, and although it has been made to be used, it is also a great collectable item
